1. Conformance Status
VecTrade targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 AA is the internationally recognised benchmark for web accessibility and is referenced by disability-discrimination legislation in Australia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
We assess conformance through a combination of automated scanning (axe-core, Lighthouse), manual expert testing, and assistive-technology validation. Where a specific success criterion has not yet been fully met, we document the gap in our internal audit log and prioritise remediation.
2. Scope
This statement applies to all pages and interactive features available at vectrade.io, including the trading dashboard, analytics views, leaderboards, account settings, and all legal and informational pages. It does not cover third-party content or externally hosted services that may be linked from our platform.
3. Technologies and Assistive Support
Our platform is designed and tested to work with a wide range of assistive technologies and browsing preferences:
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is fully operable using keyboard-only controls with visible focus indicators.
- Screen readers — semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks and labels, and meaningful alt text provide compatibility with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
- High contrast and dark mode — built-in dark theme and colour tokens designed to meet WCAG contrast ratios. Charts use colour-blind-safe palettes.
- Touch and pointer input — interactive targets meet the minimum 24×24 CSS pixel target-size guideline. The interface adapts for touch, stylus, and mouse interaction.
- Reduced motion — all animations honour the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. - Zoom and reflow — content reflows up to 400% zoom without loss of information or functionality, and text can be resized up to 200% without assistive technology.
- Readable typography — responsive font scaling, clear hierarchy, and generous line heights ensure legibility across all screen sizes.
4. Our Practices
Accessibility is a continuous practice embedded in our engineering workflow, not a one-time audit:
- Semantic HTML elements and ARIA landmarks across all pages
- Automated accessibility linting in our CI/CD pipeline (eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y)
- Manual testing with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) on every release
- Colour contrast verification for all design tokens before merge
- Focus management for single-page navigation, modals, and dynamic content
- Skip-to-content links and landmark regions for efficient navigation
- Descriptive link text and button labels — no “click here” patterns
- Regular audits using axe-core, Lighthouse, and WAVE
- Accessibility acceptance criteria included in every engineering ticket
5. Known Limitations
While we strive for full conformance, the following areas are under active development:
- Complex financial charts — some interactive chart components may not yet expose all data points to assistive technology. Tabular data alternatives are being developed.
- PDF exports — generated PDF reports may not yet be fully tagged for screen-reader access. We recommend using the on-screen HTML version where possible.
We maintain an internal remediation roadmap and actively address known issues. If you encounter any barrier not listed above, please let us know.
6. Third-Party Content
VecTrade may display or link to third-party content, including market data feeds, external research, or partner services. We are not responsible for the accessibility of third-party content, but we evaluate the accessibility of third-party components before integration and advocate for improvements where possible.
7. Legal and Regulatory Framework
This statement is informed by the following standards and legislation:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 — W3C Recommendation, October 2023
- Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) — Australian federal law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability, including in relation to the provision of goods, services, and facilities
- EN 301 549 — European standard for ICT accessibility requirements
